Check spark plug gap. Most likely something to do with gettng a good spark. Wire,s cap.. the more load on motor the harder it is for spark plugs to fire

It's possible the broken muffler could cause a misfire. Your engine is expecting a certain amount of back pressure from the exhaust. If that back pressure isn't there things may not ignite properly. It's also possible that the hole is messing with the expected gas ratio in the exhaust and the emissions control system is trying to correct it by changing the fuel/air mixture and causing a misfire.

1999 malibu 3.1 clyd 5 missfire and now random missfire oil light is on lfters very noise runs rough

Have you confirmed there is no oil pressure and the oil level is full on the dipstick?

The oil pump is turned by the oil pump drive located under the throttle body. The oil pump drive is run of from the cam shaft. It is not uncommon for the camshafts to break on these engines.

It may not be a bad idea to pull the front valve cover and turn the engine over by hand to see if all the rockers are moving.

I have 1999 318 4x4 dakota with fault coads

These are misfire codes. This means that your vehicle is missing. The 300 is a random misfire and the 305 is for cylinder 5,and the 306 is for cylinder number 6.Check the plugs if they are good then you could have bad coils. They are top of the plugs.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Misfire only in drive when idle. Ok when driving

you have an ignition coil going bad if the check engine light is on have the code pulled and it will pinpoint witch cylinder is missfiring if it is not on you will need a scan tool to watch the missfire in data mode to pinpoint it that may also find when you pull the coil out that is missfiring it may be covered in oil you will need to replace the valve cover gaskets if this is going on and clean the oil off the coil and **** the oil out where the spark is

BMW 523i 1999 model

your car is not suppose to idle at 500 rpm . 800 to 950 is the proper idle, unfortunately it is controlled by the computer. have you checked the idle speed control valve? also check the air flow meter

If you are getting a lot of misfires and you know everything is good (i.e. spark plugs & wires, etc...), you may want to check the cat converters as one may be plugged. you can use the front O2 ports to check this.
