2001 new beetle battery drain wont start

Alternator!!! Boost the car, if starts let it run for a few min. Once the car has stayed running for a couple of min, unhook the negative terminal on the battery, if it stays running, the battery is junk. If it dies, the alternator is junk. But this is just my past experience, and it worked.

Never know.

My hood wont stay up

Replace the hood struts.

They are pretty easy to do and usually only require a regular screwdriver to pop the retainer in order to remove the old one. The new ones will pop right back on with no tools.

Have you try'd to screw in the large pin in the middle of the spring in?
Are the mounting points both the same height?
Is the bonnet bent?
Apart from those, I'd be scratching my head without haveing seen it.

Fuses wont stay in box under hood

The fuse retainers are bent or something or other so you need to take some needle nose plyers and do some rebending on those fuse holders. Also poor connections cause over heating of connections that may cause loss of fuse holder spring tension You may need to improvise by adding a fuse holder and fuse across that bad fuse holder.
