Check the engine oil level. Let it idle and watch the oil light if it flickers or comes on then not safe to drive. Check while driving it does'nt overheat but this is very unlikely Otherwise you should have no problem. I don't know anything about Mazda problem's so cannot advise on that but engines in general are all the same.

Run fault codes and check why the engine light comes on Obviously the fault is still there. Did you replace the faulty part with a genuine unit because some cpu units do not recognise after market units and will still record a fault. Reset the cpu using a code reader
