SOURCE: have a 2007 mazda cx-7. 12000kms on it. check

Check the engine oil level. Let it idle and watch the oil light if it flickers or comes on then not safe to drive. Check while driving it does'nt overheat but this is very unlikely Otherwise you should have no problem. I don't know anything about Mazda problem's so cannot advise on that but engines in general are all the same.

  • When not replaced, vehicle could experience no- or hard start, long crank time, misfire, lack of power, excessive hydrocarbons in oil, spark plug fouling, catalytic converter failure, poor fuel economy, CEL/MIL illumination or intermittent shutdown.I would say,go for it.

Run fault codes and check why the engine light comes on Obviously the fault is still there. Did you replace the faulty part with a genuine unit because some cpu units do not recognise after market units and will still record a fault. Reset the cpu using a code reader

2009 mazda CX-7 an interference or non-interference engine?

the book does not specify that it is an interference engine but it specifically states not to turn the crank shaft with the chain disconnected. To me this means, treat it as possible valve damage if the chain has broken or if you turn the crank with the chain missing.

2007 Mazda cx-7 battery completely dead the engine starts on and off

Sounds like a bad power connection either on positive or negative side of battery. Could also be a bad connection from the fuseable links of fuse box in engine bay. Camshaft misaligned code is more likely on these models with the L3 engine a stretched timing chain issue. Very common but Mazda wont admit to it. Cheers

This code indicates that the fuel/air mix entering the engine is too lean. A major cause of lean mixture is ingress of un-metered air into the inlet plenum. Check all vacuum lines, injection seals and the inlet plenum to cylinder head seals. If you suspect a leak, have the engine running and spray the affected area with WD40 spray. If there is a leak the engine will race for a moment as the flammable fluid penetrates and ignites.
