SOURCE: Check Engine Light - O2 Sensor - bank 1 running lean

you should have three oxygen sensors on your car, one for each bank of three cylinders; should be towards the Y pipe on each exhaust manifold. Additionally you should have one on the exhaust pipe before the cadilitic converter.

Do you have an odd smell in the interior compartment? This could be due to the egr being damaged from debris from the road. Hire a professional to do it or go to a car parts store and get the motors repair manual or similar.

c1289 refers to pressure transducer redundant/secondary input circuit failure so you have to check OBD11 engine trouble code list
the c is for chassis and the engine codes are p
P 1289 refers to oil pressure sensor switch, rocker arm--signal stuck high===causes oil level, oil level pressure sensor--rocker arm
I cannot see the connection unless the light has two operations so I would advise you to take it to a service center or an accredited service center that has experience on you make of vehicle and have it properly diagnosed and fixed

2011 Kia Sorento, engine code P2021 after oil pressure switch replacement. Any idea what could be causing this?

This code is related to the intake manifold runner control system. The operating solenoid would have to have been disconnected for intake manifold removal. It may have not been plugged back in or the solenoid may be defective.

there appears to be a problem with your crank position sensor and your oil pressure switch.

  • P0522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage
  • http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f28/p0522-engine-oil-pressure-sensor-switch-circuit-low-voltage-618006/
  • The crank position sensor or its connection is probably at fault. The engine needs the signal that the crank postion sensor provides to inject fuel and supply spark at the correct time.

That is a hard problem to pin point without knowing what codes the computer has stored. It can be any number or sensors or engine problems.

You can go to most auto parts stores and they will pull the codes for you for free.
