Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

I also work for autozone, 5+ years, and these are not trouble codes. I would find another Autozone and have them re-read it. Trouble codes would look like this: P0300, or P1756. The codes you have are not correct. Also, they should take you inside, look up the code, and explain what they mean. Also. ask them to print them out.

More than likely the catalytic converter has failed. the computer looks at the downstream O2 sensor to determine if the cat is working. If it sees the downstream O2 starting to switch back and forth like the upstream O2 or read consistently higher than it should than it will flag the P0420 code.

P0446 code 1998 gmc jimmy how do I fix this? where is it located?

Hi there:

A code P0446 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
- Faulty vent valve
- Open, short or excessive resistance on Vent valve control circuit
- Blockage of vent valve
- Bad PCM

With a P0446 OBD-II trouble code, here are some things to try:
- Replace Vent valve
- Repair open, short, or resistance problem in control circuit
- Repair open, or short, or resistance problem in power circuit

- Replace PCM

Hope this helps.

I dont think you should just reset it ... or ignore it. I think you should get it resolved - even if he has to take it to the Honda Dealership and leave it for several days. I am certain he has a friend who can provide transportation to and from the dealership as rquired during his off duty hours ... see more below.

I think he should go to the base Auto Hoby Shop and talk to the Sargent or civilian that runs the place. I am certain this problem can be diagonoised at the shop and probably repaired at a small cost.

If the Auto Hobby shop is closed, I am certain there is a shop close to the base that caters to the personnel stationed at "Fort Mayer".

As a retired military person, I say thank you to your son for his service to our country.

I would try replacing the fuel injector ,now the mechanical code, could be a valve spring, lifter ,or valve problem, but try the injector first.
