SOURCE: how do i change glow plugs

If you are sure the glow plug relay and timer, which looks like a starter relay sitting on the intake manifold, are good. The glow plugs are located under the rocker arm covers between each injector. I would recommend purchasing new rocker cover gaskets, which incorporate the wiring harnesses for both glow plugs and injectors. They can be reused, but they will generally start to leak oil before long. The injectors are pretty easy to identify, they're the big square things with the electrical plug. the glow plugs have a single wire running to them. if I can recall they require a 10mm hex. hope this helps.

SOURCE: Orange Warning light on dash board check

It means you have a computerized system management problem. An electronic sensor component has either failed, or a condition has occurred that has put a sensor out of normal range and the onboard computer is letting you know of it. Any time that light comes on it sets a code that can be read with a special code reader. Most auto parts stores will retrieve the code/ codes for you at no cost. Be very cautious interpreting the codes meaning, because various engine conditions will set a code as well, because the condition will affect what the sensor measures. If you spend the money for the replacement sensor(never cheap) it won't shut the light off.Once installed auto parts stores will not take it back. Also 90 percent of the time it is defective wiring running to the sensor or bad grounding that causes the codes/codes.So unless you have a ton of high priced testing equipment and a lot of electronic engine control troubleshooting experience, you best take in in for service. One more thing. The most common reason the light comes on is a loose or defective gas cap.The computer monitors that too.

SOURCE: i have a ssangyong rexton and it wont start it

There's a number of possible reasons.
You don't mention if the engine turns over in the attempt, and you don't say which light is on.
A SsangYong service person can plug in a diagnostic tool to see what error codes are present.

SOURCE: How do I replace the

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

Park the car on a level ground and set the parking brake. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the four mounting bolts holding the valve cover in place. Remove the valve cover from the vehicle. Now remove the electrical connector from the first glow plug. Grip the connector head tightly with two fingers and pull straight up. Now unscrew the first glow plug from the cylinder head with a deep well socket attached to a socket wrench. Pull the glow plug from the glow plug chamber by hand. Insert a glow plug chamber reaming tool into the glow plug chamber and screw it in as far as possible by hand. Tighten it two or three more turns with a socket wrench, then remove the glow plug chamber reaming tool.

Insert a new glow plug in the glow plug chamber and tighten it with a socket wrench and deep well socket.Reattach the electrical connector to the top of the glow plug and push down firmly until it seats.Repeat the process for each glow plug until they are all changed. Replace the valve cover. Tighten the mounting bolts securely with a socket wrench.

My 2005 Rexton 270 xdi will not start till slightly mobbed with aerosol.

I'm wondering why the guy who is holding the code reader can't tell you what it means ?
He is obviously not a Ssangyong specialist - or is it not a Ssangyong Scan100 gauge ??
I'm prepared to get you answers if I know it was done at a Ssangyong dealership on a genuine Scan100 gauge :)

This will take 24 hrs once I read your reply

Ssangyong kyron wont start when cold

I had a similar problem with my Ssangyong Rexton. Unfortunately, it is the injector pump, the filter gets clogged with micro-particles of crud. Take it to a diesel pump specialist (as a Ssangyong dealer won't know what to do in my experience and they will charge $000's to fix) and get them to remove and clean the injector pump.

My rexton 2005 wount star when its cold changed glow plug relay stil the same . and no glow plug light on the dash bord thanks

Two part answer, firstly the glow plug light. The glow plug light on a Ssangyong will only illuminate if the ambient temperature is low enough for the glow plugs to require heating. I did not believe it when I first heard this but sure enough, on the first frosty morning I had the truck, the glow plug light came on for a few seconds. Don't worry about it, the temperature needs to be really cold before it will come on.

Glow plug light

Believe it or not, the glow plug light will only appear when the ambient temperature is low enough for the glow plugs to require heating. I did not believe this when I bought my truck and assumed there was something wrong with it, however the first frost of winter, the light came on!
