Can you tell me where the camshaft sensor is located on a 1995 Chevy S-10 2.2 liter? We are replacing the camshaft and can't locate the sensor

  • The Camshaft Position Sensor is located on the backside of the engine between the engine and the firewall.
  • You will need to jack the car up and preferable put the axles on jack stands.
  • Crawl underneath the vehicle to the back of the engine and look up between the engine and the firewall.
  • It's a black plastic like sensor with a couple connectors on it.

1996 Jaguar XJ6: Diagnostic (Check Engine) Camshaft Sensor A

If your car is a 4.0L there are no camshaft sensor. Only crankshaft sensor and timing sensor. Dont know your problem but if your car is not running it is very common that the crankshaft sensor is faulty. It is fairly easy replaced and located just above the crankshaft wheel atthe front of the engine. It is mounted with one 8mm boult.

Cant find the cam sensor

The camshaft sensor on this engine was located on the passenger side of the engine. You will need to remove the serpentine belt, and you can get to it by removing the inner fender or splash guard and get to it that way. I went down from the top. There are two sensors, one is a CRANKSHAFT sensor and other is a cam sensor. Make sure you know which is which. The crankshaft sensor is at the bottom of the engine, the camshaft is right by the water inlet. It is held in by 1 or 2 bolts. the camshaft sensor is not too hard to replace, it's tight but it can be done. unbolt the old and bolt in the new. Make sure you disconnect battery before tackling this project.
