Obd code C0502 on 97 chevy k1500

CO502 is a Vehicle Speed Sensor Code. I'm working on trying to resolve an issue with my own right now. I know I had some wiring issues a while back with the VSS and thought I had it all resolved. I didn't know that I still had an issue until I was installing my Hypertech Max Energy Power Programmer today when it gave me this code.

I have a 2009 ford explorer and after changing the front wheel bearings, my ABS lights came on, brake system lights came on and it says I should service the RSC. My engineer has done everything possible...

Nothing changed because you have to component test
to find problems with a part

Only if you understand the parts being tested & they fail a test,
do they get replaced

ALL VEHICLES since 1996 have those problems & lots more

You use the OBD2 Codes & reference material, trouble charts
and such, to diagnose the issues, that apparently wasn't your approach

Not a bad vehicle, just needs some proper figuring out

Once done & resolved, it seems simple, until the next event,
which will be about once a year on all vehicles

You may have an ABS Braking System issue
Changing the wheel hub brg assy ,assuming the
correct parts used, shouldn't put a problem in there

Code b2796 however no immobilizer in vehicle

Hello! Know for sure that you already fixed or burned your car lol... i had the same issue and resolved with an stupidity. There is a fuse that the car might or might not need depending if it does have an inmobilizer or not. Mine did not have it therefore the fuse was not needed. Once I removed it issue was fixed.

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. First had code, changed both O2 sensors. Bad sulfur smell resolved, check engine light resolved for about 400 miles, then came back on. Same code, but the smell is still gone....

Probably a bad catalytic converter. Causing back pressure and making your O2 sensors read wrong. Cheap gas of less than 87 octane can cause incomplete combustion giving the sulpher smell and leave deposits in the exhaust. The sulpher smell originally came from fuel additives in your gas. Cheap gas especially. Your converter puts it out as sulphuric acid. This damages the sensors and converter. Ultimately though, what cause sconverter failure prematurely is idling your car for long periods. Over 3 minutes is not recommended.

Good After noon I purchased a ford tarus lx and I seem to have a problem starting the car I don know if the starter. because every time I turn the key it would start please help

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

There are two things that can cause a no start issue. A faulty battery and a worn out starter. As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you charge your battery for if it's weak it won't have enough power to push the starter.

If charging the battery still doesn't resolve the problem then the problem will be the starter itself. Starter replacement is surely recommended.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Erratic speedometer causing miss shifting. Seems to only happen with Security codes or possibly other engine codes as well. the latest issue im haveing seems to be security of some kind.maybe a bad chip in...

Propably the VSS - vehicle speed sensor . The PCM uses this input to control shifting an speedometer information . Or a wiring issue . If you think there are othe codes stored in the computer the wise thing to do would be to have read or pull . You don't say what engine size yours is ? 3.1 L or the 3.8 L ? How many key's do you have on your car key ring ? Have other car key's ? confusing the control module . Speedometer
The IPC displays the vehicle speed based on the information from the PCM. The PCM converts the data from the vehicle speed sensor to a 4000 pulses/mile signal. The IPC uses the vehicle speed signal circuit (4000 pulses/mile) from the PCM in order to calculate the vehicle speed. The speedometer defaults to 0 mph (0 km/h) if a malfunction in the vehicle speed signal circuit (4000 pulses/mile) exists.

Have had dual battery system installed with

Visited local Toyota dealer and got copy of radio operation book relevent to my vehicle which contained info on how to fix. If I hadn't had security code Toyota dealer could have attached system to diagnostic computer and resolved the issue - not sure at what cost.

2001 pontiac grand will not start all of a sudden. ran fine this

The problem may be the security issue. Do you see a security light? Dust gets into the ignition tumbler and causes a bad contact with the sensor prompting a false security issue.

I had the same problem and thought it was a fuel pump issue, but after a $500 replacement ordeal, I later encountered the same issue again.

To resolve:
Insert the key and turn on ignition tumbler to ACC on (Position prior to engaging the starter)
Wait around ~15-20 minutes (The security light will change... I believe it will flash when the security's been a long time...sorry)
Afterward, turn the ignition tumbler and off
Your card should start there after

Tumbler maintain: Blow some compress air to prevent this incident from happening.

Hopefully this will resolve your issue without the need of spending any further $$$!
