Run fault codes to find recorded faults . Have them fixed as the engine light is telling you something has gone wrong to affect the engine performance.

Check/clean the MAP sensor and throttle position sensor. This should fix the issue. Its a common problem with Chrysler products.

This problem has to duplicate while in the shop, although one vehicle had similar problems to yours it may not apply to your case this is what was found in this case. Vehicle had 84,000 miles. Customer complains of intermittent stall at idle, No CODES were found, after checking everything the fix was Replacing the ECM and reprogramming.
It improved Idle Quality and Performance and no stalling ever since

Your Idle Air Control motor sounds bad. What does the code say? Some chain auto parts dealers will pull the codes for free to lead you in the right direction.

check the idle air and throttle for excessive carbon build up or sticking. this can be cleaned with some throttle body cleaner and a little time, most times. some more information would help. is the engine light on? any major service been done or even minor? number of miles? how long has this happened?

Check the catalitic converter in the exaust. It may be stopped up. This can cause these symptoms.

hemi ? diesel engine?.....guessing but first comes to mind a vacuum leak..air intake or major vacuum near intake system..are you familiar with motor enough to check some areas for me ?
