2001 Mazda protege 1.6 liter having problem with fuel not getting to injectors and not pressuring up. Have replaced fuel pump and pressure regulator also cleaned injector and and dropped gas tank and...

did you change the Fuel pump? Most vehicles have the pump mounted in the top of the gas tank. you probably took it out to clean the tank. Sounds like that would be the first thing to check. I would also recommend changing the fuel filter at that time which should be on the drivers side frame rail under the car. Hope this helps!

Cold start problem mazda 2001

Could be the fuel pump relay, or a faulty pump, or pressure regulator.
The fuel system is supposed to hold pressure after you turn the engine off. A faulty pump or pressure regulator could allow fuel to drain back into the tank overnight. You would need to crank the engine for several seconds to build pressure back up.
The relay could be faulty and not giving the fuel pump power until the oil pressure comes up.

Losing power when its below half full of gas

Pressure test the fuel system to measure the pressure regulator to ensure correct fuel pressure under all driving conditions. Do the test with a less than 1/2 full tank of fuel.

How do I check the fuel pressure on a 2000 model mazda millenia with a 2.3 engine in it

Hi.

You connect a fuel pressure gauge like this to the pressure rail. Pressure in this car must be between 35 and 45 psi. If pressure is too low look for kinked fuel lines and eventually replace the pump. If the pressure drops down more than 10 psi in five minutes or if the pressure is considerably higher than that replace the fuel pressure regulator. Below the parts that may need testing:

1. Fuel tank
2. Shut-off valve
3. Non-return valve
4. Fuel pump
5. Fuel pump (Transfer)
6. Fuel filter (High-pressure)
7. Injector
8. Pressure regulator
9. PRC solenoid valve
10. Fuel pump relay
11. Fuel pump resistor and relay (KJ model)

Where is the fuel pump on a mazda protege 93?

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. You have to remove the tank to get the pump out. I would check the fuel pressure with a gauge to make sure the pump was out just to be sure. Changing the pump is a lot of work, and checking the fuel pressure will let you know if you need a new pump.

Fuel Problem

fuel pressure regulator? This diverts excess pressure from the rail back to the tank. When they wear out they usually stay stuck open thus diverting all pressure back to the tank. Pressure tests do not reveal this as pressure is checked before the rail not in it. I do believe you have a bad fuel regulator. They are 75US ouch.
