Probably a dirty or corroded joint/microswitch in the fob, open up key and clean with cellulose thinners all soldered joints - flux comes off solder and causes dry joints. blow it dry and reconnect, make sure small springs are extended slightly for fob battery connection to be tight.

If the key had gone faulty, the key code must be re programmed on the vehicle computer. This can be done only using a PIWIS tool, available at the dealer or at a qualified Porche garage.
Try also the following reset:
turn ignition on,
turn off.
remove the transponder from the column
push any button on the fob within 6 seconds.
This procedure will reset the key synchronizing again with the vehicle computer.

My 2011 Ford Taurus key fob not working properly. Keep getting "key not detected message and fob does not always unlock doors. Have changed battery recently, still not working properly...

Hey Jeff it's possible that the battery in the fob is breaking contact with the battery contacts inside try squeezing the remote tightly with one hand and press the buttons with the other if it starts working you found it you must carefully bend out the contacts to make it fit tight and from opening the fob you could have made the case loose so also try putting a small piece of foam inside to make a tighter fit is this a fob with the key in it or do you have a separate fob from the key for the pats system I'll look it up and see but your post back will help also anything that's near the receiver will throw the signal off but I think it's the battery looseness that's doing it

Key fob will not open or lock doors on a rover 75

Three possibilities - either the fob has stopped working, the receiver or other on-car devices has stopped working or the system has developed amnesia and forgotten the code.

Using the spare fob might persuade it to work or if you haven't a spare you could try a new battery in the one you do have. A friend left his fob and keys on top of the microwave oven once and it wiped the code from the memory.

The owner or user can do little more than fit a new battery. Specialised equipment is needed and no little amount of experience to test the system, diagnose and rectify the faults.
The dealer or an auto locksmith would provide the answer.

Keyless entry not working and although I can get into the car with emergency key it will not start - even with the keyless fob entered into the starter control unit. Spoke over he phone to Jaguar who...

Does sound like the battery - these cars are really sensitive to low voltages. After new battery fitted - cycle the car close + open with the fob - if this does not respond enter the car using the key and also use the key to immediately start the engine. Then check that the fob is okay - you may have a bad fob battery and its possible that the fob has lost its identity ? Hope this helps - good luck

Security system not responding to key fob signal input

When my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee will unlock the doors but not deactivate the security system it is always time to change the battery in the key fob. Don't order a new fob, just pry the fob open (carefully) and replace the battery. I buy mine from Batteries + and they cost like $.80 a piece + tax.

Dead battery, can't open doors

If you have the keyless entry system, you either have a dead battery in the car, or in your key fob. Regardless, you can gain entry to the vehicle using the emergency key concealed inside your fob. Press the narrow button near the metal end of the fob to separate the parts. They metal piece has a key attached that fits into the lock on the driver's door.
