Question about 2006 Jaguar S-Type

Window global opening function

I have the same problem. It is associated with one key only, which seems to have a very sensitive opening button. Is there a way to disable this unnecessary and dangerous function? Apart from removing the battery from the key which I have done already. Thanks, Mark

Trunk&gas tank buttons in driver door would not let you pull up or push down.its stuck.what seems to be prob.on 2002 honda accord.

Can you open the trunk with the key? If so, look around the latch mechanism for a tiny lever. This lever can be pulled up or down and is meant to be an additional anti-theft device on many models. On one position it enables the remote lever to open the trunk and in the other position it disables the remote lever to open the trunk, forcing the person to use the key at the trunk to open it.

My car alarm / key remote broke, I believe it is a factory alarm. I don't want the horn to go off, what do I do to disable the alarm system once I open the door

You may be able to disable the alarm, by opening the door with the key. Or pull the fuse, to the alarm system in the fuse box. Open your key fob remote, and check the internal 3v battery as well. It could be dead, or the (outer) case buttons are not making contact with the board which has the actual buttons on it. When pressing the buttons manually on the board they should make a "click", else wise they are the source of your problem in the remote.

I need to disable an immobiliser on my mg/tf car

If your key fob has just stopped working try this:

  1. Unlock your vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock, do not open the door.
  2. Press the right hand button lock button (the button with the padlock symbol or the dimpled button) on the key fob 4 to 8 times.

If the above fails try this:

  1. Open the key fob
  2. Remove the battery
  3. Press any button 10 ten times, and the same with the other button
  4. Refit the battery or a new battery
  5. Unlock the vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock, do not open the door
  6. Press the right hand button lock button (the button with the padlock symbol or the dimpled button) on the key fob 4 to 8 times

My trunk popped open for no reason at all on 3 different occasions. Twice when I went down to the garage it was open. (I keep the doors unlocked in the garage so I didn't hit the remote at all). And...

Most often I'v encountered a 'sensitive' button (trunk open) on the key fob. Did you have the key fob in your pocked or purse (no offense, don't know your gender). Check the fob for 'sensitivity' of the 'trunk open' button. This could be where the issue/problem is.

My 1996 maxima key wont open my trunk and neither will the trunk release button

the trunk release button has a little metal like a hammer that hits the trunk lock to release if bent will not open or if you disable it by pushing it down to disable trunk release button the key lock is frozen will not work even if key go's in normal. need to replace it. if u need to get in your trunk and if it is empty would be easy to do just open the middle part of the back seat panel and with a thin and sturdy stick and flash light can hit the little hammer to open it . hope it helps

Trunk does not open with button inside car. Does open with key remote. Is there a bad fuse somewhere and if so which one?

Your Valet cancel switch is set.

Open your glovebox and you will see a pushbutton on the the left side, if memory serves. When this button is set, the power button will be disabled, but the key fob button will still work.
This is for when you Valet your car, you push the cancel button in the glovebox, lock the glovebox, then give the Valet your Valet key, which will not open the trunk or the glovebox. Voila, no Valet rummaging through your trunk :)

Often full gloveboxes will be the cause of the button getting pushed accidentally.

Jaguar xj8 boot wont open

Just bought my 98 a week ago....from what I can figure out....the valet mode disables the inside button....until the trunk is opened by the key. From what I understand also....there is a valet key....and an owner key. (I saw the differences online this week) which also ties in with valet mode.

Disable v-cast key

With the phone closed, hold down the multi-function button on the lower-right side of the phone for a few seconds; that will lock all of the buttons on your phone until you either a) open the phone, or b) hold down the same button for another few seconds to unlock the keys.
To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to set the button to ALWAYS be disabled when closed; you have to lock it every time you close the phone.
NOTE: Locking your keys can create another problem, at least on my phone, where I've disabled the option to anser a call by flipping it open (I prefer the option to view the caller and ignore it if it's not a priority). When I receive a call with the phone locked, I have to wait a few seconds after flipping the phone open before pressing the "answer" key; if I answer too soon after flipping it open, the phone tends to lock up for about 30 seconds, which obviously kills the call.
