Hi there? It sounds like the car is ranning on limp mode. Is the engine managment light on? if so, the air flow meter can cause this simptons. If you disconnect the air flow meter which is located next to the air filter box, it should improve it if it is disconnected, don't worry this will not cause any problems.
If it improves it by disconnecting the air flow meter then you'll need a new air flow meter..

i have had some experience with that exact prob with the exact same unit and model. it turned out to be an issue with the air flow meter module. but in your case, it's stated that you already replaced that, it may be a problem with the wiring of the air flow meter module. as oem wiring tends to be brittle after so many years. try doing a continuity test on the wires first to see if you're getting the correct voltage and resistance. if not, replace the wires and hookup terminals.

Fuel filter is inside the gas tank and its built into the fuel pump housing. You need to remove the back seat and get into the tank via access hole under the seat. Than you need to "split" the fuel pump assembly open and get the filter out. Reverse procedure to assemble. Those filters are rated for 105k miles. My 00 Maxima has 167K on it and it runs just fine with the original. As far as the air flow meter , its a pretty common part that fails and that's why 00 Max air flow meter costs only $100 and all others $500 or more. If you replace an air flow meter, make sure that you use a "NISSAN" air filter or YOU WILL BE replacing the air flow meter AGAIN. Also with the new air flow meter the cars ECM/Computer needs to be reprogrammed. As far as plenum gaskets leaking?? unless someone had it apart and didnt put it back together the right way, its "VERY UNLIKELY" for those gaskets to be bad. Totally bullet proof.
