Yep. Ask the parts people if there's a belt for your vehicle with ac delete. If not you'll have to measure the run without the ac pump. Use a string and wind it around the pulleys the same way the belt will run then measure the string. Should help you get close to the right length.

2005 Dodge Durango 4.7 magnum bypass serpentine belt

the ac is an idler pulley in the system so leaving it out will require a total change of how the belt is fitted and not just needing a shorter belt
remember that the ac pulley bearing can be replaced if faulty and if the ac compressor has failed disconnect the ac clutch wire and there is no need to worry about belts

I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero what do I do to change the bypass pulley do I replace the ac compressor

You evacuate the AC system. You remove the serpentine belt. Then you remove the compressor. But the hoses and secure the cut ends so they don't rattle around. The bypass pulley will fit in place of the compressor. Then you install the serpentine belt

I have a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue and I need to bypass my ac compressor with my serpentine belt, does anybody know what size belt I need?

Laurie, why bypass the compressor? - even if it is frozen, as long as the AC clutch is not activated there will not be an issue. To be safe just disconnect the wire powering the AC clutch.

93 cutlass supreme 3.4 dohc how to replace AC compressor

It isnt hard to replace, but, it is illegal to vent refrigerent into the atmosphere(If theres any in the system?!), also you would needs a few "special" tools(vacuum pump, and a/c manifold gauge set to recharge the system! A shorter belt is always available, But, depending how the belt is supposed to be run, you may not be able to go that route! You could try searching for "ac bypass pulley" if you dont want to keep the ac working!(alot cheaper than buying an ac compressor!

Can i cut my ac belt off and still use my defroster? My compressor crapped out and cant afford another one . But winter is upon me very soon and need the defroster.

more information would be advisable year make model engine --if you have a serpentine (a single belt )leave belt on unless compressor is stuck seized because all other accessories will be affected if compressor is by it self can remove with out problem it wont affect your defrost in winter

Bypass ac compressor with shorter serpentine belt 2001-02 Mercury Sable LS

Because in most cases the routing will not work without the pulley for the compressor being in use. That's why some engines have a dummy pulley available to use in place of the compressor.
Not using the compressor pulley can cause the belt to drive a pulley the wrong direction, or not have the grooved side of the belt on a pulley.

Can we fix the heater and defrost in a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS without the AC compressor

You may be able to remove compressor and purchase a pulley with an arm that atttaches to the block in place of compressor. Or remove compressor altogether and install a shorter serpentine belt. Hope this has been of some help.

How to change the belt on 1996 pontiac boneville

on the 3.8 liter v6, the pulley on the a/c compressor can be replaced if it is locked up (frozen) on the compressor. the question is what is actually locked up? if the a/c compressor is locked up but the a/c compressor pulley turns, then you need to disconnect the wire harness connecter that is on the a/c compressor pulley/clutch so you can run the defrost on the climate control. many GM cars will run the a/c when you switch the climate control to defrost especially in the winter so the a/c system stays lubed and does not lock up the a/c compressor from lack of use. you can then relace the belt without replacing the compressor pulley/clutch assembly. if the compressor pulley/clutch assembly is locked up, it will need to be replaced. i do not believe there is a way to route the belt bypassing the a/c compressor. you dont want the water pump turning in the wrong direction if you reroute the belt wrong or the engine will overheat. i hope this helps!
