Choke control

there is an idle control motor and an egr valve. the egr valve opens to let exhaust gas into the intake manifold heating the engine more quickly. the idle air control motor controls a small percentage of the throttle, which may be the case here. but, either one is likely.

Everytime i start it, it spits out black smoke real bad...warms up and only smokes a lil on take offs..Can the lean burn or egr thing be taken off car and still run fine?

This problem is caused by bad electric choke, or improperly adjusted choke. The Electronic Fuel Control system, as well as EGR, don't come into play until the thing's warmed up. Check the electric choke and its adjustment, also check the choke control on the right rear of the intake, and the charge temp sensor adjacent to the choke control, just in front of the distributor.

87 ford ranger v6 blowing black smoke out of exhaust

Check your MAP sensor, it work's like a choke, make sure it has vacuum, also check coolant temp. sensor, also work's like a choke, and if running with cylinder miss, check spark plugs wires.

I have a 2002 for windstar and its blowing out black smoke i bought it advance auto and the machine said the manufacturer control fuel air metering and the1st sensor 1 circuit dish input might be going out

Black smoke, running rich, two thing will cause that, CTS ( coolant temp. sensor) and MAP sensor, both work like a choke, check MAP senor first, make sure it has vacuum.

I have a Ford F250 have raw gas smell have put in fuel pressure switch, plugs and wires what could the problem be

Raw fuel running rich, two thing control that, coolant temp. sensor and MAP sensor both work like a choke, make sure you have vacum at map senor and with scan tool check coolant temp. senor, also have your catilic converter check, if clog will run rich not enough air going in, so to much fuel.

Thick black smoke coming out of tailpipe . Choke seems to be working ok

Your choke is working to good, to much fuel not enough air, if smoking after engine is at normal engine temp.you need to have coolant temp. sensor or your map sensor check, both act like a choke, you'll need to do a computer scan, also have engine check for a miss fire, well also cause a rich problem.

2004 Grand Am V6 Will crank but not start in morning only

Check the MAP sensor and the wire harness to the map sensor. Next time it will not start, try disconnecting the MAP sensor and see if it starts. IF it does then change the sensor. Good luck and hope this helps.
