84 chevy s10 trany

Many things do this. First you have a 84, Do a compression test. low, then give up. No matter what you sink into it, it won't get better unless you rebuild the engine. Next replace the catalytic converter. After that tune it up, from the fuel filter to the top of the engine.

check all the rubber bushes ,and check your universal joint on your prop shaft bearing may be worn.

Could be the coil, ignition module in the distributor, or various other things.
I would check the coil for battery voltage and resistance first.

If it is an auto matic trany, it could have went into limp mode. This is usely fixed by replacing the shift control module. it plugs into the side of trany pretty easy to locate when you have the new one in your hand.

if your pressure is too low this fix is quite expensive and not worth for older cars, so the first thing you should try to keep it running is to use THICKER OIL (W20-50 or such), + oil stabilizier (any good oil additive). I tried it in my Jeep,- helped right away.. Good luck

assuming this is an automatic transmission youre talking about you can install a transmission cooler and service the transmission (change the fluid and filter) every 50,000 miles. that will ensure longevity for your trans. hope this helped you out

If its an auto box you fill up the tranny through the dip stick tube. You have to be very careful and patient as it can take a while to do.

93 is made to be mated to a fuel injected model with ecm that controls tranny,84 is still old school! best bet have old 1 rebuilt!

I don't believe you need to weld anything, but its a good idea to have a torch maybe, to get off the old one. or a big hammer.

no should be same engine. check your engine mounts and tranny mount. how bad a vibration? sometimes after installing engine the trans gets shifted around and if mount was worn it will allow it to hit crossmeber and vibrate.
