start at front of car and work your way back DO NOT stretch the weather strip when driving water comes from the front right? Also if it's a hard top change the window flap springs before the install good luck thats my fav. car of all CJ
Remove inside door handles and trim, wind the window down untill you can see the securing bolts that afix the window to the mechanism, remove external weather strip, tilt the glass and remove going outside of the door frame {you may need to remove a bolt that holds the guide near rear of door} assembly is in reverse, lubricate guides and mechanism while your there. Remember we are here to help as best we can, good luck
Hi. This will be caused by deteriorating, or defective weather stripping. During driving, air is pushed through worn, or damaged weather stripping, thus, creating this whistling sound you are hearing in the passenger compartment. Water allows the small hole, or cracks, to emit the sound at a louder rate. This could be a manufacturing flaw(poor weather stripping installation, or defective composite). This is repairable, but you will need to locate the worn weather stripping. Once located, and exposed, you can order a replacement weather stripping kit from your dealer.
NOTE_ Most common location will be the front windshield weather stripping. the rear window, and side windows are to be checked, as well.
I take it that you are talking about the door window weather strip. If so there should be a small phillips head screw at each end, and clips along in between. If you are replacing it you should be able to tell by the new one. You will probably have to take off the door panel and if there is a stop to keep the window from normally going to low, would have to be removed and let the window go down enough to get the weather strip replaced and then roll up and reinstall stop. Hope this helps.
what do you need to know? the small passanger window or door window?
if you are replacing the door window then you need to remove the doos cover on the inside of the car. Then remove the old window base from the tracks. Slowly slide the new window in ( removing the weather stripping on one side) once the window is in roll the windoe all the way down and replace the weather stripping
WINDOWS ARE STUCK IN THE WEATHER STRIP. START VEHICLE HOLD SWITCH DOWN AND HIT THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL NEAR THE BOTOM. WINDOW SHOULD COME DOWN. THEN LUBE WEATHER STRIPS .
