My 2001 Isuzu Rodeo stalled out of nowhere about a week ago. After a few attempts, it started up again. Come to find out that all of the oil is going to one cylinder and that cylinder is misfiring. Not sure what the cause is. Maybe needs to be resealed. The check engine light is on and I got codes PO128, PO463, and PO507. Runs rougher than normal and has higher RPMs. Any help is appreciated.
That cylinder probly has worn valve guides or rings--chec plug and see if has oil on it--------othrwize misfire is caused by worn igntion parts like a bad plug wire or a fuel injector----the codes can be xplained at any part store like napa----------if the cylinders bad then u need to do all of them w age of car and that takes removin heads or pistons which is $$------try usin 40wt heavy duty oil

cylinder 4 is on the drivers side it is middle plug goes 2,4,6. it is possible for plug to go bad at mileage. look on the side of plug see if you can see a black mark on side this will be evidence of fire going down side of porcelain also look on plug wire for any trace of arcing. it is most likely a bad plug or wire on cyl 4

Hi Jack,
I am not an expert and I don't have the codes in front of me with the meaning but I can offer some advice and hopefully it will solve your problem. First keep the print out of the codes and take it/them with you. Have someone check the oxygen sensor. It's possible that all of the codes you are getting lead up to the computer (electrical issue). I sure hope this helps. Good luck and let me know how things turn out.

Tune it up and replace the 02 sensor that keeps setting the codes bank 2 sensor 1. Have your oil and filter changed right before you go for a retest to. That will clear up 3 codes P0300, 0155 and 0154. You might have to replace the fuel sending unit to get rid of P0463 but if the gauge works OK I'd leave it alone.

I had that problem too and the issue was a loose wire connecting the engine control modude to the crankshaft sensor switch. The engine control module does not sense where the crankshaft position is when the wire moves, and that causes things to go snaky, such as the transmission and cruise lights coming on. This issue took a good mechanic in Syracuse one and a half weeks to find. Total cost was $425.00,$395.00 for labour, and $.99 for the new wire. Good luck!

The upper intake gaskets may be leaking. They are made of plastic and metal and will leak air. Do not remove the cover on very top of manifold when changing.
