I have a 1991 Chevy s-10 with the 2.5l motor. It's getting good fuel pressure but is stalling out when you hit the gas. It will idle fine, but will eventually die out. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter and changed out the throttle body. help.
Pull a spark plug. Is it black? Stalling on acceleration. Possible cause: vacuum leak; can be detected by spraying water on suspected area. Will produce sound as if drinking from a near empty cup with a straw.
Possibly throttle position sensor. When they go bad, they have a tendency to tell the ecm to release more fuel than needed, flooding the engine, and killing your gas mileage.

That Absolutely could be the Problem. Have you Replaced the Fuel Filter Yet?

Its possible you have some heavy vacuum leaks? I'd inspect every thing well to identify an open line or poor seal drawing air in.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

no fuel is getting to engine, check fuel filter, or a bad fuel pump. check the fuse and relay for pump. have a good one!!

Yes, there is a Fuel Pump Relay. The Relay is located on the firewall just above the left-hand (even cyclinders) valve cover as viewed from the front of the car. There is also fuel pump test lead attached to the harness at the fuel pump relay. Attach a power wire from the battery to the lead and the fuel pump should come on. If fuel pump comes on, the relay could be bad. Also check the fuel filter located under the passenger side of the truck tucked into the frame rail.

you have a fuel pump relay that may be defective, or fuel pump or maybe the crank position sensor,a cam position sensor.the best thing is to have a scan performed with an obd1 scanner and you will know where to start the repair.
