If you want to bypass the heater core, easiest was is to remove both hoses from the heater core, get a hose connector and 2 hose clamps.

Other than that, you could buy a few feet of some heater hose at your local auto parts store, and go from the water pump to the thermostat housing (although this would bypass your temerature sensors, would probablly cause a check engine light, and may prevent your cooling fan from working properly).

I don't see any parts store anywhere offering a "single" bypass hose, nor have I heard of one for this vehicle. If you do need to bypass it, your solution is above.

I hope this information helps you, and I do wish you luck on your repair.

Have you checked you local salvage yards for the broken part? You should be able to find one there, and any escort with a 2.0 engine from 1997 to 2000 will work.

Ford escort won't idle sputter out rpm go below 1000

This is usually caused by having a vacuum hose come off or
connected to the wrong place. The diagram is under the hood.
Also the cold air bypass could be dirty and need cleaning. I use
carb cleaner in a spray can.
Other check air filter, plugs, wires.

Bypass Hose that goes from the water pump to the cylinder head on many "A" series engines. A common point of failure. Always keep a spare. 1 hose and 2 clamps included. Not for 1275's Bypass Hose that goes from the water pump to the cylinder head on many "A" series engines. A common point of failure. Always keep a spare. 1 hose and 2 clamps included. 1988 Mazda 323SE -- small hose, literally the length and girth of a thumb, has ruptured... would like to replace it myself if possible, but can't find a part number or a name for it, and frankly I'm...

Mazda go this from Ford as an idea. If you look at the older Ford V-8's, such as the Windsor series, they have a similar arrangement at the thermostat housing. It is a type of bypass for the upper radiator hose to help eliminate overheating. Some of the 323 models used the same motor as the Escort, so i would go down to your local parts store and ask the counter person if their book lists a bypass hose for your model and motor. If not, ask them to check under the Escort. You will know the part wihen you see it.
If it is not available, then you can probably have them cut some bulk hose (remember to tell them that it is going to be carrying hot coolant) and work it in. If you use bulk hose, buy it a little longer than needed. As the saying goes, "measure twice, cut once."
And try to use new clamps.

Hi my 1999 Ford escort when it goes back to idle

sounds like a vacuume leak, take some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray the hoses slowly, when the motor levels out you found your leak, being 11 yrs old, i would change all the hoses anyway, they are overdue
