I had a similar problem with my handbrake light the problem was a faulty handbrake sensor. The brake light stays on because of a fault in the system the handbrake. I just disconnected the handbrake sensor
Engine light will stay on until the engine starts. Its a self test of the system. As far as it not starting it sounds like the ignition modual in the distributor has gone bad. (common in 90's) Also the control modual on the drivers side fenderwell is also known to burn out. Both control spark.
E brake ,please explain if this has an electric auto handbrake like a renault megane or is it all manual with a pedal on the side or a proper handbrake in the middle
hi this is marcus i have one doing the samething and i have it at the ford place and they say it is a part call cluster part it makes the car think someone is trying to take it and it want start the part is about 700
put key in trun to on do not start or try to start just trun on. wait 10 to 20 min.s with key on this should reset the theft system.after you wait turn key off then try to start.
To reset the light, turn the key to position two and have the drivers door open for about 40 seconds, the light should automatically go off.. good luck.
The indicator light is there to tell you your brakes are out of adjustment just remember that if you just replaced your brakes that your parking brake may need adjusted this will make the light stay on also.
