Hello,

I'm trying to install a CD player into my commodore. The wiring from the original stereo has different colourede wires to to the CD player, and I need a wiring diagram for this vehicle. Please help.
I have a 1999 VT S Commodore and it has the original stereo in the car and I want to know whether I can put 2 x 6" x 9" speakers on the rear shelf without damaging the stereo.

Any solutions would help?

head down to your local auto store and you will be able to pick up a wiring harness adaptor. you wire your stereo to this adaptor then you simply plug it into the wiring loom. no damage to the loom so if you ever need to reinstall the standard stereo its just an unplug and plug back in. its extremely simple and colour coded so there are no mistakes.

Hey im a fully qualified mechanic and would like to tell you that you can fit any 6X9 speakers in the parcel shelf of your car! but you need to make sure that if you do so that you do not cut or damage the parcel shelf to fit them as it is a structual part of the car! If needed buy spacers that raise the speakers from the parcel shelf enough to fit them into position! Also you can use the original wiring there should already be factory wires underneath the parcel shelf in the boot to plug the speakers into! You may need to make a couple of extensions with wire to plug the speakers in this can be done by buying terminals from an automotive part supplier! Easy as that hope this makes sense!

well there is a thing called a harness. it attached to your factory wires. and then on the other end is the proper stuff to connect to. so it saves you from stripping and stuff.. just have to find the right one that suits your car. also for the speakers.. there are certain sizes that are compatible with your car you need to look up the specs and see whats your size. also some decks use certain speakers as well.. so you need to check that out too to see if it would work. Hope i helped a little bit
