The pump is on the lower right side behind your front bumper cover-jack up the car-put jack stands under the jacking points and look up in front of the right wheel-it plugs into a rubber gasket in the tank-when you pull it out of the tank the fluid will pour out so have a bucket standing by-cheers Denny

It is a 2.0L (the delta blocks weren't in tibs until '03). You have to remove the timing belt tensioner, and then you can remove the bolts for the water pump. I would strongly recommend not only taking careful precaution not to disturb the orientation of the gears in this process, but also to replace the timing belt and water pump at the same time. You don't want to go through this process all over again do you?

Here's a photo - remove cap, disconnect connector to bulb, move bulb retainer out of the way & extract bulb - installation of new bulb is in reverse order.
If you want to replace the entire ASSEMBLY, there are three (3) 10mm bolts holding the assy. Remove them, then slide assy forward to access connectors - disconnect them.
