Hi, one morning suddenly I found my Mazda 3 infected with the following electrical symptoms: - keyless entry doesn't work - car stereo and interior lights don't work - power lock switches don't lock (although unlock works). Both doors are the same - when I start the car, all instrument panel needles go to maximum for about 1 sec -

check master door switch/grounds and out put power= if all ok then look at GEM module.

The keyless entry is designed to work with the doors closed (closed - not locked). If the door ajar sensor thinks the door is open the keyless entry is disabled. When you manually lock the door it might tighten the door just enough to activate the keyless entry. I would try slamming all the doors closed and then see if the keyless entry works. If it still wont work have the wiring checked on the front door lock.

There are two multiplex control units - one on the driver side and one onthe passenger side - which one did you unplug? The one on the driver side is the main "Brain" while the other one is the one that houses the keyless reciever. According to the service manual, any troubleshooting of this system must begin with the one on the driver side. It can get quite involved because Honda does not provide actual troubleshooting (symptom) charts, just descriptions of the electrical connectors and what conditions should be present at each conector pin under what system condition. (each pin has to be tested to determine what is malfunctioning) The system is not capable of outputting fault codes of any kind.

Maybe fuse number 6 is blown (check lefthand side of steerning wheel where all teh fuses are located - you must open the door)
