Replacing the starter solenoid on a '07 Honda CRV

Hot glue a dent puller button to the top of it.

The CRV most likely has either a Nippon-Denso or Hitachi starter and an integrated solenoid that does the same function as a relay...it contains hi amp contactors that run the starter motor....low battery voltage will ruin a starter quicker than hi voltage will.....To test the starter on the vehicle, disconnect the ignition switch signal wire, 14ga. Black with White Strip from starter terminal and touch a 12ga. Jumper wire from the small terminal to the large top terminal on the starter, making sure the key is off and trans is in neutral or park....Avoid arcing the threads on the stud by touching the jumper to the nut securing the positive battery cable to the starter.....It should engage the drive and spin the engine if the starter is good.....Always disconnect the negative battery cable if you have to remove the starter......

The starter motor solenoid is worn out .possible the starter motor brushes could be worn out also...engine hot. This will be apparent. Replace starter motor and have the flywheel ring gear inspect for worn or missing teeth. Replace with new ...prefer not rebuilt starter motor.

if your battery isnt dead (try boosting it) then check to make sure the car is in park all the way and try again if nothing happens you need a new starter. alot of people dont put the shifter all the way back to park and that keeps it from starting.

will starter come out from bottom on 2003 honda cr-v 2.4 liter

will it start with a boost? either the starter motor or the battery. take the battery to auto zone and they will test it for you.

if the clicking sound is coming from the engine compartment, it is the starter solenoid. let her try it a couple of times. sometimes it would connect and start the car. then she can bring it home.
