How do replace front axle bearings on a 92 jeep

Rebuilding them consists of new U joints and maybe balanced. If it was so loose the the u joints wallowed out the keepers, Then yes, they would also need replaced. Cut off and welded on. That isn't a common problem, but I have had to replace a few. Not just on jeeps.

sounds like you have blown the internal heater matrix and the thermostat is not working or is blocked. you are going to need a new matrix and thermostat and a bloody good flush out of the system just in case there is something in the system means taking off the rad hoses flush them out from both ends. and doing the same to the engine. replacing the matrix as its not going to be able to fix it if its shooting water out of the vents change the thermostat check pipes for damage.

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the brake caliper, caliper anchor, rotor and ABS wheel speed sensor.
4. Remove the cotter pin, nut retainer and axle hub nut.
5. Remove the hub/bearing mounting bolts from the back of the steering knuckle. Remove hub/bearing from the steering knuckle and off the axle shaft.

Installation

1. Install the hub/bearing to the knuckle.
2. Install the hub/bearing-to-knuckle bolts and tighten to specification.
3. Install the hub washer and nut. Tighten the hub nut to specification. Install the nut retainer and a new cotter pin.
4. Install the brake rotor, caliper anchor, caliper and ABS wheel speed sensor.
5. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

That job is a ton of labor, considering it's such a small part.
You need to remove both axles (with brakes, rotors and bearing hubs as well) and then remove the diff cover. After that, you remove the carrier (complete with gears) THEN, you can simply pry out and replace the seal.
If you need help with any part of the job, just ask and I'll give you further info. Axle end nut torque is something like 150lbs, not sure what the carrier end cap torque is.

Jeep actual made this pretty easy to do.

Remove the caliper and rotor.

Remove the axle nut.

Remove the three bolts that secure the wheel bearing to the knuckle.

Remove the wheel bearing.

The axle will slide out the opening of the knuckle that the wheel bearing sits in.

Most times you can squirt some wd40 on the ends of the axle spline, then put the axle nut on backwards so the castellated side is towards the bearing hub and run it onto the threads till the axle and nut are flush. (So you don't damage the threads or mushroom the end of the axle.) Once you have done that you can give it a really hard shot with a decent sledge hammer (two lb or heavier) striking it as squarely as possible. I have never had one refuse to come apart when I do this!!!

is this a solid front axle? if it is and want to remove axle to do u-joint you need to take off front wheels,rotors,and calipers remove wheel bearing assebly is splined to axle will slide right off hint to remove sealed bearing leave the 3 screws partially in bearing put 12 point socket on bolts and gently tap evenly should pop right off

remove wheel and tire caliper and rotor axle nut hub bearing pull axle out of spindle slide new axle in and reverse procedure

Front wheel bearings can be done at home rear wheel bearings will require a hydraulic press and an axle puller. Either job can be difficult depending on amount of rust and availability of tools. The front wheel bearings are an assembly and once the jeep is up on jack stands, with the tires, brake calipers, and rotors removed, it is only a matter of removing the axle nut and 3 bolts (which can be difficult depending on rust) holding in the old bearing assembly
