I have a chevy blazer 94 s10 4.3 vortec still quit on the road. I got replaced fuel pump, radiator, ignition control module. I just confused with this problem. Any suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks.
How is it running before it quits onyou. This could be the culprit of an egr valve. How many miles on thevehicle. The egr seems to die on a certain mileage pattern. Also youcould start by cleaning the egr valve before replacing it. This couldvery well help the situation, but this is just a guess. Hope thishelps!!
I had this truck, and similar problems. If the truck acts like its "running out of gas" and surges, has no power, then sputters and whimpers to a stop.. and then wont start. and you DO have gas...
EGR valve. stuck open, gunked up by using cheap gas (vortec really needs premium to run clean)
Temporary (maybe) fixit: good FWACK o the EGR valve housing with a rubber mallet. it may get you back on the road again- but its gunked, needs to be replaced.
Otherwise get it replaced, use better gas, use gumout fuel additives. (I replaced mine 4 times over the years, and its not cheap)
Alot of people don't know this but it is recommended that you also change the fuel pump wiring harness, could be that it is not making good connection

Do you have spark? Does it start at all? What does it do before it quits running?
