Hi, I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu that would not start in the morning. I live in San Francisco and the weather is not that cold. But it starts fine in the afternoon when it's warmer. All the lights on, all accessories working. But it would not even crank. New battery, new starter. Any advice appreciated.

go to an auto parts store and get an electcic dipstick heater . remove your oil dipstick after parking car for the night.install electric dipstick preferrably while engine is still hot plug it in at night .this will
help keep the oil warm and also the block after car starts unplug heater remove it and install original dipstick. this is the easiest to install but there are also block heaters

Tune up... its flooding when its cold due to the plugs being worn out...

, do a simple test on the charging system...check battery voltage. should be 12v or better. start engine & check volts at idle, no accessories on. volts should read 13.5 -14v. Turn on all accessories(including headlamps on high) volts should drop slightly but should not creep down. Definitely not below 12.5. If voltage drops lower than 12.5, the regulator (in the alternator) is not working. either change regulator or change entire alternator. Alternator drive belt should have sufficient tension so that alternator cannot be turned easily by hand. If it can, check belt tensioner.

when was last tune up?seems to be classic case of bad spark plug wires and worn dist.cap and rotor.

I had the same problem and replaced the Dist. cap and rotor it had moisture in it and was corroded.
once replaced had no problems.
