Unless the connectors are loose at the lights you replaced or you purchased defective poor quality bulbs ..... You could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, and reconnect and test ... think of it as a last ditch effort to "reboot" the body computer for your trailblazer ... otherwise my guess is the lighting/body computer is the culprit. Especially if the light switch was OFF when the key was removed and it warned you.
Head lights can be a pain at times but before jumping to conclusions... Have you taken the low beam bulbs out and checked the continuity on them...
The filaments could break and then make a short term contact causing your right lamp to come back on.
Check the bulbs with an ohms meter first before searching for more difficulties.

Thank you for the prompt responses. I checked the wires and electrical system with an ohm meter; then I took it to my trusted mechanic. He put it on the computer and wa la, the problem is in the circut board (completely covered under the extended warrantee). Again, thank you. You helped me know what to expect!
