I have a 2006 Volkswagon Toureg I parked it in the garage after workthe other day and when I went to move it later on it would not move in any gear, before i parked it the trans shifted great. Does anyone have any idea what it could be. I dont see how the transmission could have gone bad, could it be electrical and where do I begin to look. thanks

Check your fluid level, check for puddles under the car. My first guess, though, is the linkage to the shifter. Probably broke.

I have a 2006 Volkswagon Toureg and yesterday morning it would not go into gear. I pushed the break down like I normally do but its stuck in park it will not shift at all.

There is a cable that runs from brake to shifter. It either broke or stuck. you can take off shift cover and trace cable from brake. either unhook it or replace it

This problem also happened to me. However, I found the part online that replaces the second pink lever. The new part is made of metal so the part will never break again. I made the emergency fix with the dremel, ordered the part, and a week later the part came. I am making the permanent fix today. Follow the link above to order the new part. It costs around 49.00 including tax and shipping. It will take you appx 2 hours to remove the shifter, change the part, and reinstall.

Volvo 2006 S60 refuses to move in reverse direction

your problem lies in the internal parts of your transmission which are the clutch linings, they are already worn out and starts to slide.

Fuel guage moving all over 2006 chevy trailblazer

I had this problem as well. Took it to the garage and it was a $700 bill the part alone was $440 they had to drop the gas tank - and since then it's not been working right. The fan clutch went a week later another $700 bill. Picked it up and it was still making the same sound - garage replaced another sensor without charging me--picked it up and three days later the service engine light came on. Back to garage and another $80 part was needed under the hood. All this with just 52,500 miles and I keep it well maintained. Not a happy camper at all! Holding my breath but it's been only two days so far so good.

My automatic volkswagon passat will not shift out of park.

You may try to take the console out from around the shifter and in there its a little moving rod that kind of rocks back and forth to unlock your gear from park when the brake has been steped on.A lot of times drink gets spilled in those and then when you step on the park brake it want disingage which makes it stick in park intermitinly.Any questions just let me know
