The headlight is actually a bulb inserted into a light module. You can remove the plastic light module by releasing the tension spring on the rear of the headliht housing inside your hood. Once the tension spring is released pull the plastic light module from the fender socket by gently pulling on the edges of the headlight. The module should pull out with some minor difficulty. Remove the bad bulb from the rear of the plastic bubble, and replace it with a new halogen bulb. Replace the module into the fender socket and reclip the tension spring(s). Not all that difficult of a job once you know how its accomplished.

- Same as you would in a 2003 VW New Beetle. Open the hood, reach inside and release the tension spring on the back of the headlamp assembly. Then gently pull the headlamp assembly from it's socket by grasping the edges of the headlamp on the outside of the fender. Once extracted, change the bulb and replace the assembly back into the socket. Don't forget to redo the tension spring inside the hood.
