I stopped at a stop sighn and hit the gas got to about 10 mph and all of a sudden it just started revving up and wouldn't move and still wont
If the vehicle was running fine before, you've most likely got a transmission fluid leak. Start your car, put it in reverse then drive, then back to reverse and up to park. Leave the vehicle running. Pop the hood and check the transmission fluid, I'm sure you will find it's either low, or you've blown a pressure hose and lost all the fluid. I hope this helps.

Had a similar problem with 88 SAAB 9000 some years ago. All above solutions were suggested by various people and machanics tried everything, but problem persisted intermitently anyhow, till machanic from AA (rescue) suggested it was an electronic ingition related unit that sits snug against the body inside the engine compartment. When this little item was replaced (it's about 2 inches square and is very simple and relative inexpensive to replace) problem was solved forever.

Check your EGR Valve and your IAC. These can and are usually common problems with bad idle and at sometime your car will be hard to start and when you give it gas it will feel like it almost wants to just lunge forward really fast
