Depends on if this is a 3.5L or 4.0L. The 4.0L is located on the driver side inside the water jacket. You will need a special tool to remove it - it is internal. Not too difficult of a job, and Autozone will rent the tool for free.

I replaced the water pump ,rediator, themosat,on my 2002 oldsmobile aurora and it is still saying low engine coolant and is still overheating

first there is a low coolant sensor in the over flow bottle, and the other is that you have a common GM motor problem. all GM cars and trucks have a intake manifold gasket leak1_29_2013_6_16_48_pm.jpg1_29_2013_6_17_48_pm.jpg

Water pump

Look on the drivers side of the engine. You will see a small belt running off a pulley of the back of the front head. That is the water pump belt. The water pump is being the housing with the hose attached to it. You will need a special tool to remove the pump from the housing.

Pump noise in rear of car keeps running / Gas pump or load leveller / seems longer run time olately in cold weather ( 1999 olds aurora)

you might have a leak in the rear suspension load leveler. check connections with soapy water. locate where sound is coming from. fuel pump in tank is a slight hum and not that noticable, but the air comp for load leveler is. Also spray around rubber boots on shocks, also check load leveler switch on axle to frame for broken or loose lever control.

Where is the water pump located on a 1996 olds aurua the car is over heating

Hi, i would check the thermostat first unless the water pump is leaking as the water pump is where the timing belt is is the timing belt needs removing to get to the pump, take the thermostat out and place it in a tub of boiling water and check if it opens up if it dont then it will need replacing.

you need to bare in mind that it could also be head gasket failure so make sure you get this tested if the thermostat is found to be in working order.

let me know if you need further assistance ok
