Coolant overheating

By dfjennings on Apr 29, 2009

Peugeot 106 diesel 1993 Graduate model. Cooling system overheating after around 30 miles. Minute copper coloured sediment in water,no leakage into top of engine (Looks very clean looking into oil filler aperture,no froth so dont think head gasket has blown). Could it be the water pump Please advise

I'm not a peugeot guy butr the only item in the cooling system that would require a bearing or bushing is the pump...check shaft for side and end play. Only other possibility is that someone recently worked on it and accidentally caused a leak, or found one and used so much sealer that it plugged the radiator (some sealers have a fine powder that resembles what you described)
