1. Check the fuse and check for corrosion at the fuse terminals.
2. Check the brake light switch
3.Check for a bad ground at the brake light bulbs, burnded out bulbs and corroded or loose connections.
I have this same problem. I checked the fuses all are working, I check for the corrosion and that is no problem. I just don't have the break lights except for the top mounted one, it works fine, my turn signals in the car work normal and cancel when I make my turn. I ahve a 2001 Lumina
I've tested the switch and replaced the bulbs but I can't find a fuse labeled for my brake lights on my 2002 chevy malibu
have u tested the brake light switch at the top of the brake pedal arm.
