There are two screws and two nuts that hold the lighting unit in place. The screws are at the top. The two nuts are 11mm and located at each bottom corner. You can see the nuts from underneath the truck, but they are accessed from the top.

I having problems with the turn signals

replace the bulb with the correct one, sounds like you have a single filament bulb where a double filament bulb goes and it is back feeding power through the parking light system when you turn on the signal.

Removal of head light assy 1989 ford ranger.

Hello,

To remove the front head light please follow the steps below:
  1. Place the Ford Ranger in "Park." Turn the engine off. Turn the headlights off. Remove the key from the ignition. Allow the truck to cool for about 20 minutes.
  2. Open the hood of the vehicle. Locate the two retainer pins on the headlight assembly of the light that needs to be replaced. Pry the retainer pins open with your finger. This releases the headlight assembly from the Ranger.
  3. Pull the headlight assembly forward. Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the assembly by hand. Rotate the retaining ring counterclockwise and slide it off the plastic bulb base.
  4. Pull the burned out bulb straight out of the headlight assembly. Discard the used bulb. Insert a replacement bulb into the headlight assembly and push it straight into the socket until it clicks into place. Slide the retaining ring around the bulb and rotate it clockwise to secure it.
  5. Plug the electrical connector into the back of the unit. Slide the headlight assembly back into the Ranger. Push the retaining pins back down to secure the headlight assembly.
Hope this helped. thank You for using FixYa!!!

The procedure is as follows:---First you need to open the hood and twist the bulb socket out from the lens.1)Remove the screws retaining the headlight and trim assembly.
2)Carefully rotate the headlight and trim assembly away from the vehicle, rotating the inboard side away from the vehicle.
3)Remove the side marker, parking and turn signal bulbs and sockets from the headlamp and trim assembly. They can be removed by turning them.
4)If replacing a lens, remove the retaining screws for the lens to be changed and remove it from the headlight door.

How do you take out headlight assembly right side of a f250 1993

Remove the screws that hold the grill in place. Undo the clips right and left front in the lower section of the grill (push the bottom part up) and pull out carefully. Take out the three 11mm bolts that hold in the parking light assembly (you may have to remove the battery tray, or the wiper bottle/expansion tank depending on which side) and unplug the parking light bulbs. There is a Ford headlight tool to remove the clips on the headlight anchors that are now accessible. But it stinks. Remove the clips as best you can and try not to damage them. Sometimes they pop off with a screw driver and it'd almost be like trying to teach someone how to knit over the internet to explain exactly how they work. But once you get one off, the others come easier. I apologize that I can't be more specific on the clips, but they really are a design flaw.

I have a 1993 ford f-150, the headlight switch shorted out to where the headlights would still come on but the tail lights and parking lights and dash lights would not work. My brake lights and turn...

I have just bought a used 1993 F150. Same exact symptom. I found that the connector that goes to the headlight switch itself had burnt contacts and showed signs of excessive heat. I replaced the connector and everything started working. Good luck.

How to replace 1998 Ford Contour headlights (with diagram)

Step 1
Remove your Contour's front grille. You can do this by raising the hood and removing two screws that are located on top of the grille.

Step 2 Remove the headlight assembly. The headlight assembly is held into the front of your Contour by three screws. Two screws will be located on top of the assembly, and one on the bottom.

Step 3 Replace the headlight assembly, if necessary. If you are only changing individual bulbs, make sure you replace the correct bulbs. Each assembly holds three light bulbs, including the bright, dim and turn signal bulbs.

Step4 Replace the headlight assembly and reattach the three screws to hold it in place.

Step5 Replace the front grille of your Contour and the two screws that hold it onto the front of the car.

  • It is usually a good idea to replace bulbs together (in pairs). This will allow the bulbs to wear at the same rate.
  • If you choose to replace only the individual light bulbs, do not touch the new light bulbs. The contact of your skin on the bulbs will cause the light bulbs to burn out much sooner.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
