Loud Noise in front end.

I have a 2003 Mountaineer AWD. The front end is making a loud noise which gets louder as the vehicle speed increases. However, this is only apparent when driving straight or to the left at all. When I turn the wheel to the right, the noise disappears altogether. The hub bearing was worn out so I replaced the hub assy. only days ago and noticed nothing else wrong in that area.

It's a humming sound. Like it's winding up with increased speed. I'v also been smelling some fluid after some driving.

Wheel bearing? If you turn left and it gets louder. It is the right wheel bearing. And vice versa.

Loud noise from front end gets louder as speed increases

Sounds like one or both of the front wheel bearings are bad. Very common on all GM vehicles. Take to a shop and have inspected. Can you hear it more on one side than the other?

Loud humming noise from front end of Durango 4 x 4

You have a hub/wheel bearing going out. You need to jack up the vehicle on each side. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in/out at the top and bottom. If this does not work then roll the wheel as fast as you can and see if you can hear which one it is. Good Luck.

Loud rotational noise from the front end.

You have a bearing or a brake problem. Either requires the attention of a good repair shop or a dealer.
Bearings may need to be replaced or lubricated (no expert here); if brakes, it is likely warped rotors which will need to be replaced and do the pads as well. Prepare for a $200-300 bill.
