Okay, if you go to an auto part store - by a can of R-134a with the gauge on it. Start your tracker and put the A/C on Full Blast. Hook up the can or refridgerant to the LOW side (it's the larger piping for teh A/C should have a gray screw on cap. it's located on the left side under the hood). Now DON"T start refilling it... see what it says on teh guage. Also check yoru compressor. It is the bottom right pully> The pully should spin freely but there is like a cap on the front of the pully, when the compressor engauges that should spin too. If it says your low, start filling it with the refidgerant turning the can upside down and then to the right about 120 degrees then back upside down. until it reads full (in the blue range about 25 - 45) it it is showing more than that or whatever, go to a mechanic... Or you could try a dye kit that you can get at an auto parts store where you put a UV dye in it and then use a blacklight or UV flashlight to detect if there is a leak in yoru system.

Hope this helps.

Air conditioner

Does the compressor run ? If yes, you would need to know what the high and low pressure readings are to proceed.
It could be a blend door problem under the dash, or something else.

2001 Chevy Tahoe AC stopped working

There is a possibility that the A/C compressor clutch burned up or got disconnected. Try investigating the wiring for the clutch.

Air cond dash light works, compressor doesn't go on.

AC's have a low freon switch that shuts off the system to protect the compressor in the advent that you have a freon leak have the system checked for a leak

Ac is blowing warm air in my 2005 sierra 2500hd duramax. Any idea

Your system has R-134 Freon in it. the 134 is made up of smaller molecules than the old R-12. The R -134 permeates through the rubber parts of the system. If the system gets too low on Freon, the compressor will stop coming on.(low pressure cut out switch). Have the system serviced with an A.C. machine that can vacuum, measure the amount of Freon in the system, and add the right amount. The machine can also inject die. Later the die will show up under a black light. This will show any leaks you may have.

A/C Gone Warm

U have a leak in the system, be it a very slow one. Have the systek leak tested with a black light, it comes from the factory with dye that glows under a black light leak detector.

Aircondition not working....just blowing warm air.....fan is working

Either you are out of coolent or the compressor is not working.

First check the fuses, then lift the hood and have a friend turn the air on. The compressor should cycle, if not take it to a mechanic. If it does cycle you are low on freon, take it to a mechanic for a system charge. Make sure they check for leaks first.
