The stem like fixture is called a schreader valve and it looks like a car tire air stem. It's on the fuel rail. So from your injectors trace back to the main line then follow that back until you fine the valve. Most fuel pump are good for around 80k - 100k before they fail. I would press the valve and see if you have fuel come out first. Insert key in ign. turn to on position (Wear safety goggles) then press valve. If gas shoots out It's probably not you pump. If it doesn't have gas come out then I'd check the fuse center under the hood and check the fuel pump replay fuse to see if it's good. Check the fuel pressure regulator also and check to make sure you have spark going to your plugs. Maybe your CPS (Cam or crank position sensor) went out.

SOURCE: 99 ford taurus will not start

buy a can of carburator cleaner, spray into duct area while cranking engine. Does engine try to start(fire)? If so, find inertia switch (button in trunk). 'reset button just by pushing it. If this switch was triped, fuel injectors or fuel pump will not operaate. If spraying carb cleaner does not help starting then fuel pressure should be checked to rule out fuel delevery problem. AS a precaution, make sure your useing the correct key(original). Security problems also shut off fuel.

SOURCE: fuel gauge not working on 2005 ford mustang

Sending unit is in gas tank. usually as an assembly with the electric pump. These aren't cheap either, If you know a mechanic you can trust ask him how much to install a new one, I can get them wholesale for less than two hundred dollars, but of course retail probably more like 250.00 Hope this helps you!

SOURCE: do I need to change transmission fluid on my 2005 ford freestyle

The high pressure filter and fluid are supposed to be changed at 60k intervals. Ford has a very specific oil for this transmission and the service fee will be $300 to $450 - mine was around $420.

No other car place will touch the CVS transmission in a Ford Freestyle and most Ford dealerships are clueless on thier maintenance and repairs. On most issues that crop up the first thing they want to do is swap it out - for $4000+.

Hello Heather, Sometimes you can't shift out of Park unless you push on the brake pedal and sometimes turn the steering wheel. Good luck.

Ford freestyle smell like gas inside

Could be a small gas leak in one of the gas lines or even a leak on top of the gas tank and yes could even be a leak where the fuel pump goes in the top of the tank. Quite often the leak is on the tank top out of sight and it smells of gas even if you have a slight leak.

I have a 95 ford f150m eddie bauer series, i always used the front tank, on long drive's i would switch, over, one day after use, i park it, next morn, it would not start, i switch over to the rear, no...

it may have a seperate pump for the seprate tanks im not sure. it acts to me like its running thaose few miles on fuel left in lines from the back tank. i would start by selcting the frount tank when you put it to bed one night, then in morning have some one turn the key while you listen for a fuel pump if i didnt hera one i would start there. if i heard one check for a seperate fuel filter for the frount tank then check for pluged lines between the two tanks. it has to be someting simple. good luck.

Filled truck up with fuel and fuel guage stoped working

There is a TSB for this issue ( TSB 08-2-9 ).

The problem is high sulfur content fuel will cause a problem with the fuel level sending unit, and cause it to read incorrectly.

The 2 times I had this happen, I was not at my normal brand fuel ( had it happen with Shell fuel both times ).

I fueled at 1/2 tank with my normal brand, and then after another 1/2 tank fueled again, and the problem went away.

If you want, the TSB lists new revision fuel level senders, that you can drop the fuel tank, and replace your exiting one with to cure the problem.

The correct P/N depends on your truck cab & bed config, and options

2005 Ford Freestar, 62,000mi

The fuel pump reset button is the only thing I can think of to try when your problem occurs. As for your mechanic, believe it or not, might not tell you everything he knows until you guarantee him the work or his equipment isn't able to get the codes that a dealers can. If you have any warranty at all I would make sure that if you have anymore problems to take it to the dealerr and let them do their job. And another thing that might not be related, but is very important on Ford vehicles is that you secure the gas cap completely or it will set a code for that alone! Ford suggests in their manual 3/4 turn or better after the clicks, but it's best to do it until you can't stand it anymore.
