If i wiggle the switch back and forth i can get my running lights to turn on with my fog lights but if u pull switch right out they will not turn on nor whan the headlights are on the running lights are not no tail lights or side markers for a dodge ram sport 1500 1997

If I remember right, the fog light switch was integrated to the head light switch. I believe you pull out on the switch once it's in the marker light position or the headlight on position.

You did not list the year, make and model but it sounds like the switch is bad.

If it is a double filament bulb, try to rotate by 180 degrees in base, since there is a difference in power and touch of the bottom pins

With the switch in sidelight or dip

position, pull the switch to its first

position to turn on the front fog lights.

Pushing the switch in or turning it to OFF
or AUTO will turn off the front fog lights (this is for the front)

With the switch in any position except

OFF or AUTO, pull the switch to its

second position to turn on the rear fog

lights. This will also turn on the front fog

lights unless main beam is selected.

Pushing the switch in or turning it to OFF
or AUTO will turn off the rear fog lights (this is for the rear)

I have a 2004 f150 xlt triton. I couldn't figure out the how to turn on the fog lamps and the manual was not helpful.

Solution: turn the light switch all the way to the right and pull the switch (out) towards you. Push switch in and it turns off. The manual says to turn switch all the way to right but doesn't say to pull switch out.

If they are factory, then you will pull out on headlamp switch when the headlamps or running lamps are on. If they are aftermarket then there is probably a seperate switch somewhere. If the headlamp switch does not pull out then you have aftermarket.

to turn on the fog lights, its the same switch that you use to turn on your head lights. Turn the dial to the right to turn on your head lights and then pull it towards you. thats how you turn your fog lights on

Or you could just pull out the relay under the hood, it's marked fog lights, pull the relay out. If your hi beam indicator is flashing with your fog lights on them selves. Could be the multi function switch. That controls turn signals, headlights, fog, I have seen many of those go bad.

turn the switch to acc then poke a paper clip in the small hole right under the switch,push it hard and hold,wiggle the switch back and forth while pulling out and it should come out really easy.
