sounds like starter motor/solenoid problem, try hitting the starter motor with a hammer , a couple of sharp hits may loosen off the bendix if this is the problem, if starts replace the starter motor

My 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Diesel instrument panel went completely out and would not accelerate.

check your timing chain its probably broken. diesels have no spark plugs and uses compression ignition and uses a lot of battery charge to turn it over. thats why it sounded like it was dead. if the chain brakes the upper and lower cam and crank shafts aren't in time together so you get no compression ignition. sorry for your troubles and hope i helped

My windsheild wipers and cruise control only work internitently. I replaced the multi function switch and the problem persists...

The cruise and the muilty funtion switch realy don't have that much to do with each other except the brake switch . Now if your rear lights are working and for that matter all of your lights are working . The problem is most likely that there is a second brake switch to shut off the cruise control when you apply the brakes thats the problem . Its located under the steering wheel looks like a square box 4x4 inches about 3/4 of an inch thick black plastic if you can follow the wires it hooks to the brake main switch. I ts derictly under the steering coloum its your problem

Hi I have an A6 2.4 V6 Avant. Done 120k km's. Just had 120k service done - change toothed belt etc. No it shudders or stutters as you accelerate. It settles done at higher speed by the moment you gun it...

Hi

it could well be the air mass sensor, try cleaning it with carb cleaner, this often works
the other thing is, as you have had the timing belt done the crankshaft sensor may be at fault causing a slight missfire internitently, other option would be the camshaft sensor.

you should normally get a code for the air mass sensor but if the fault is not constant then it might just evade you. Lastly does this car have the EGR valve, some do some do not ??

Car has new alternator, and starter. internitantly dies what is wrong with it? the battery also tested low ccas but said battery was good.

No sir, a load tester does not give an accurate diagnoses, of a batteries condition. The Specific Gravity of -> Each cell, has to be checked also.
Believe it's 12.70, but don't quote me. I suggest with a good battery, that is fully charged, try again.

Also note that a battery in a drained condition can make an alternator go bad. The alternator works too hard. Batteries need to be fully charged, then put in the vehicle.
