98 ford explorer wont start theft light on while cranking, no fuel presure at fuel rail

    greg kraft im so fustrated it started weeks ago when while driving it just died. cooled down for a day and it ran for a week with no problems. then it died again same thing. then once again and now it wont start at all. changed out coil pack and crankshaft sensor. still no luck

It sounds like the vehicle is in theft mode,did you use a different key? Does the theft light blink really fast with the key off?If the passive anti-theft system has been activated the computer will have to be reset in order to get the vehicle running again.

  • thomashpatte I have a 98 ford won't start on every Wednesday. Took to a shop , no help. I only have one key . No remote. If the anti theft is going off what do I do to get the truck running again.

I know this sounds weird...but I locked the door..then input my code to unlock...then it crank with no problem
