Question about Mercedes-Benz ML320
My Mercedes ML320 - 2002 Cooling fan will not shut off? How do I get it to stop
Probably a bad relay, pull it from the relay panel to shut the fan off.
To diagnose you can try a new relay, but you might also have a bad coolant temperature sensor on that circuit.
Or the climate controll is going south.

SOURCE: cooling fans won't shutoff
If With the Ignition OFF they are On and You remove the Relay and They Turn OFF Sounds as if the Cooling Fan RELAY is STUCK ON Replace The Relay is What I would Advise

SOURCE: cooling fan not working
The fans only run when the engine reaches approxminatly 235 degrees F. on the guage that is near the end of scale just before guage show "HOT" I don't think you have a problem, allot of folks out there don't know about this.

Check for a switch at lower part of rad. Should see a wire harness & plug on a sensor at bottom of rad. This sensor/switch also operates fan on/off according to coolant temperature. You may need to disconnect battery to get at it safely.

sometimes they stay on for a bit to allow the engine to cool down after being driven.even after you shut the car off. helps to cool the engine better and faster

I thought they where either on the side of the core support(follow the wire harness and it should go to the relay). If not remove the fuse box lid and then take out the screws retaining the lid housing and you will find a series of relays. There will be one for high speed (engine uses this when temp. is to high) the other is a low speed relay(this is the climate control aux. fan relay) They may have fuses on top of them I know the older models did. I hope I have been helpful.
