SOURCE: Oil Pump leaking on 1983 toyota pickup 20r engine.

I've had the same problem with my 22r.
I just put silicone gasket ( the stuff you get in the tube for automotive) on top of the o-ring.
It added an extra seal plus also hold the o-ring in place when putting the oil pump back on.
Never had a problem with the oil pump after that.

It sounds like the oil is coming from the oil pump or oil pump seal. The oil pump is driven by the timing belt and is usually overlooked during routine service.

I have a 2004 Toyota highlander leaking oil, oil light comes on. Could it be the rubber rings?

a 2004 toyota highlander V6

this should be your engine type
The 2GR-FE is a 3.5 L (3456 cc)

if leaks are that bad
always check the engine oil level before you drive off

fixing oil leaks on motors
degrease whole motor top and bottom

start with replacing the oil sender it may be the cause of the oil light coming on
after degrease
lay cardboard or paper under the car
take out for a drive and park over the paper over night

this pin points most of the oil leak locations
leaks from a V6 motor
rocker covers/ spark plug tube 0 rings.engine seals
cam seals
front and rear engine seals leak often
sump gasket can leak

if oil consumption or light on continues
can be a failing engine oil pump
or worn main bearings giving low oil pressure to the whole engine
you could be burning oil from worn piston rings
or hardened valve stems

a mechanic can fit an oil pressure gauge to the motor when hot
to check running oil pressure to confirm low oil pressure

if engine is worn out

it is possible to fit a lower mileage used motor to your highlander
its often cheaper than and engine rebuild

Replace front crankshaft seal

When you replaced the front seal did you smear a bit of oil in side of the seal because sometimes if you don't you can nick the inner seal.
if the seal is ok the you most probably have a worn crank/cam shaft.
hope this helps

Diesel mixed with engine oil increasing level of engine oil

Usually if outside o rings fail the its often soon after the inside rings and seals go to. injector pump overhaul the solution. You could just remove the pump and replace the front seal but it would only be a short term fix as the bushings in pump are likly worn

OIL GETTING DOWN IN FRONT LEFT CYLINDER COULD BE STOPPED UP OIL RETURN HOLE.WORN VALVE GUIDES OR SEALS.AND WORN PISTONS RINGS.DO A COMPRESSION TEST ON THAT CYLINDER.IT WILL LEAD YOU RIGHT TO THE PROBLEM.

Blue smokes come out tailpipe when i start the car but stops afte

Helllo there
Symptom: Gray or blue smoke from the exhaust. You notice gray smoke coming from the exhaust when you start your car. The smoke may or may not disappear after the car is warmed. If it is, it is less noticeable. The smoke may have a bluish tint to it. Possible causes:

  1. The engine's piston rings may be worn.
The Fix: Replace piston rings. (Generally not a DIY job)
  2. The engine's valve seals may be worn.
The Fix: Replace valve seals. (Generally not a DIY job)
  3. Damaged or worn valve guides.
The Fix: Replace valve guides. (Not a DIY job)
Symptom: Engine uses more oil than normal, and there is some smoke from the exhaust. The oil level is low between oil changes. It appears that the oil is being burned by the engine because of the smoke in the exhaust. You may or may not notice the engine doesn't have the same power as it used to.
Possible causes:

  1. The PCV system is not working properly.
    The Fix: Replace PCV valve.
  2. The engine may have mechanical problems.
The Fix: Check compression to determine engine condition.
  3. The engine's piston rings may be worn.
The Fix: Replace piston rings. (Generally not a DIY job)
  4. The engine's valve seals may be worn.
The Fix: Replace valve seals. (Generally not a DIY job)

Why is there a water leak coming from the water pump?

i would say you answered your own question, if there is water leaking from the water pump i would say the water pump is leaking and it needs to be replced, either the bearing is bad and its leaking out the shaft,or the seal is bad and its leaking outta there either way you need a new water pump, check the belt for wear when you replace it,,
