Hey Tyler,

Your posting does not indicate if you have a good clean mixture of antifreeze coolant in your heat & cool exchanger ( ie. radiator ), this valuable component of the vehicle coolant & heating system alway's need's a good supply of 50% water to 50% antifreeze which is under pressure and could hurt you or anyone standing too close to your vehice in question.

Purchase the anti-freeze in either full mixture (100%) or 50% water 50% anti-freeze just about anywhere out there with a vehicle repair isle.
Personally speaking I mix 50% water 50% anti-freeze since this is much cheaper than buying the already 50% water to 50% anti-freeze simply due to economic reasons.
After filling this radiator container, remember to alway's follow your vehicle manufacture's safety guidelines, remember there are many moving parts in the engine compartment that could hurt you or people standing around your vehicle while the engine is running.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: 1996 ford contour gets hot , no hot heater or temp guage movement

Is your temperature gauge working now? That is of more concern then your heater as you wouldnt know if your engine was overheating until its too late. Your heater core could be clogged, they get clogged quite easily. You can flush them or replace. The part is inexpensive but on some models you have to take out dash to replace them, but on other models it only takes about 30 mins and a few bolts.

SOURCE: temp guage showing hot, not getting any heat for 1992 Mercury Cap

If the hoses to and from the heater core are hot , and you say the heater core is hot , then the only answer is that the air duct that flows into or out of the heater core plenum ( housing ) is not opening.
Heater control on dash borad inoperative.
Not sure about 92 capri , some cars have a cable linkage , some work on vacume motors.
Try to find a haynes manual for your car , they will walk you through almost every step of anything you may ever want to do to your car.

You seem to know what you are doing , but I gotta ask ........the heater core you felt was up behind the dash inside the passenger compartment of the car right ?

SOURCE: My heater does not work

sounds like you have some mechanical aptitude..... I LIKE THAT!!!! Now....get your hand up to the evap box....after the jeep has been running for a while so it can get warmed upand turn the heater on......you should feel some hot air on the evap box on the mid to upper part...if you do this is good...it means you have a temp door actuator stickin....which is a huge tsb for these vehicles....if there is no hot air on the evap box on the inside of the jeep then get back undr the hood and put your hands on the heater core inlet and outlet hose......should both feel the same hotness...if not then ya have a faulted heater core...try to flush it and replace if necessary..........HOPE I HELPED!!!!

SOURCE: 1996 jeep grand cherokee blower works but no heat

Since your blower is working and it is a heat issue, thats where we'll start,First thing is have you checked the coolant level in the radiator when engine is cold, make sure it is filled to top, next verify you have coolant in reserve ,Start your van and get it up to normal operation temperature,If your heat gauge on the dash works correctly it should be 190 degrees,Now lift the hood and locate the two heater hoses going into the heater assembly at the fire wall,Both hoses should be hot to hold on to,if both are hot and no heat inside your problem will be the blend air door in heater assembly.
if neither hose is that hot you need to replace the thermostat in the engine to get it up to 195 degrees.
if one hose is hot and one is luke warm then the heater core is blocked and to blame. hope this helps you.

Although you can hear the catuator it doesnt mean the flap itself is moving over. Double check it and if necessary switch it over manually to check it. One other thing you may want to check, is whether or not your vehicle has a diverter valve in the hood. A lot of newer vehicles never allow hot coolant to circulate through the heater core until u specifically request it, this keeps the car cooler inside and the ac doesn't work as hard to circulate. So if it goes faulty on some vehicles you wont get hot air because there is no hot coolant in the pipes..lol

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix with a digital climate control system. The heat quit working, it doesn't blow out any heat. Now that it is warm outside the air stopped blowing out any air. The digital temperature on the climate control is not correct. When it states that it is below 30 degrees on the ext and it is warm outside the air wont be cold. Once it starts going above 30 degrees the air gets colder. Today the blower stop working all together. Was told it maybe the climate control unit was bad. You can hear the door opening/shutting when you switch the temp from cold to hot. But there was no heat blowing out whatsoever in the winter time. Could you please give me your opinion on whether or not it is the climate control unit or something else?

Had the same problem and turned out to be that the Heater Core was clogged. Took it to a Radiator shop and they blew the system out to unclog it. Cost was $25.00. 2005 Grand Prix.

2005 Grand Prix heater works fine when blower is off-air coming thru vent gets hot; once blower is turned on air turns cold. Why?

Sounds like a clogged heater core- insufficient coolant circulating through heater core, and as soon as you blow air past the core, it get cooled off.

02 grand prix temp rises over 210 then drops back down. heater

dear friend-there is a couple of things you can do to find the problem, when the engine is cold remove the radiator cap start the engine then look inside to see if the water is circulating, all so look for bubbles in the water,if there is bubbles, you might have a blown head gasket,if there is circulation the water pump is ok,then get the engine up to working temp, then feel both the top and bottom radiator they should be the same temp,if not then the termostat is at fault

Heat blow cold air

most likely a problem with the water circulation around the heater core. if you've never used the heater, some vehicles have a hot water shut-off valve for the heater hoses. another possibility is the thermostat had been removed. the easiest way is to start the vehicle and slowly allow it to warm up monitoring the water temperature. it should heat up to normal water temperature, then heat up and then drop down. the thermostat is usually around 180 degrees or 192 degrees. it allows the water around the engine block to heat up then once it reaches 180 or whatever it opens up circulating the cooler water from the radiator into the engine block and pushing the hotter water into the radiator to cool off. no thermostat, then the water keeps constantly circulating not allowing it to properly heat up. this can slow the heater down, lower fuel economy, alot of things especially in the winter driving...
