3.2 t6 ranger cold start takes long

Most long cold starts are from the fuel returning to the tank. Check ball stuck and bleeds off. Next time, turn the key on and off 3 times. If it starts faster, that's the problem. Check ball is in the tank, part of the sending unit.. I would live with it. Costly fix.

Why does my 2006 Statesman 3.6 V6 turn over and fire occasionally but won't start?

Low compression can mean any of several causes:
loose plugs
bad valves
bad rings
blown head gasket
there are a few even worse possibilities.

Do a compression test. if compression is indeed low, have a mechanic look at it.

Starter is turning but engine won"t catch and start oil was low could that be the problem

Hi Shelley, you mean the engine turns over but won't start ? It's missing one of three things Spark , Fuel or compression ! The last time it ran , did it run ok or not good ? No blue smoke coming out the tail pipe or smoke coming from under the hood ? Were there any lights lit on the dash , check engine , oil light...etc.. How low was the oil ? If the oil had been very low an you where driving it you could have fried the engine ! Me ,if this car came to my shop I'd pull a plug wire an see if it had spark an if it did I put a fuel presser gauge on an check for fuel ! If it had fuel I'd check compression ! Most usually if low oil were the problem the engine would seas up an would not turn at all. No Start Diagnostic Basics EricTheCarGuy You can watch this to see what is involved in finding out the problem !

My 85 chevy cavalier won't start. While driving there was a loud pop then engine shut off. It has power, fuel, and spark. Cranks but won't turn over. did a compression test and one cylinder is low. Is...

Well one cylinder with low compression would be a valve or timing chain problem - and a timing chain problem could cause it not to start.
Spark timing won't have any affect on compression.

I have a 2006 350is Lexus that has over heated. It has over heated and won't start back up all it does is turn over

What has happened is you have Warped the Head and lost Compression in the Engine. Without Compression, no Fire due to the Low Compression. Sorry....

Low compression cylinder 2 and 4

A mechanic doesn't know why the motor
has low compression ?

Wouldn't you conclude that person has no
test equipment or doesn't know how to use it

Obviously you have bad valves or a failed head gasket,
if only two cylinders are an issue

Car on starts on starting fluid and runs all day

If your saying that the car won't start on its own, but will run fine all day as long as you start it with starting fluid, this could mean that you have low cylinder compression. Check for leaking or bent valves or a blown head gasket. An engine needs alot more compression starting just to get everything turning and rotating. As an engine gets faster, the compression is less of an issue because everything is happening so fast, the compression don't have time to leak down like it does while starting. 90% sure if you check cylinder compression, you will have two or more cylinders that won't hold pressure, basically becoming a hinderance to the rest of the cylinders instead of a helping hand.

Do a compression test cause in most cases when a t/belt brakes it bend valves meaning no / low compression which means no start

1996 Dodge Ram won't start, compression is low

you need ti check your fuel pressure out and also do a no load test on your altenator because that might not be producing enough electrical energy to start the truck
