Power steering was leaking. I put in ps stop leak in Florida and came to Pa...in freezing temps. In the morning I found a large puddle of ps fluid. I fill resevoir with ps fluid but it doesnt stay in. Do...

every possibility that the stop leak increased the viscosity and the leaking hose could not handle the extra pressure in cold weather
Additives are really a waste of time as it is a stop measure that could have cost you a life when calling into a steering shop would have taken 1 hour and fixed the problem

2009 dodge caliber driving to Florida driving 75 mph after each hour quits and wil run again for the same amount of time. Mechanic replaced the fuel pump and it still did it

Possibly transmission is overheating and car is going into 'limp mode' because of your high speed. I would check with dealer on this one to see if computer needs a 'flash' update?

When I hit the breaks, the engine idles rough both in neutral and in gear. The charging system is fine.

sounds like the booster seal has failed, you can hear a hissing noise usaly when the booster fails. a sssss noise will be heard when stepping on the peddle.
here is my suggestion, TAKE it to a break shop.
but if you must a new booster master cylinder combo would be thing that you could replace fill with brake fluid slowly pump the brakes to bleed and then have the car towed to a brake shop to have them properly bled.. ya I know, but these are the brakes man, and must be in perfect working order, no excuses ! faulty brakes can cause loss of life. SO DO IT RIGHT ! I don't want you rear-ending my prized conv. corvette, speaking of loss of life. brakes are the first thing on a car that should be worked on FIXED - than you can fix the other stuff.
good luck and be safe.. Jay the pool pump repair guy Florida

How do I bleed the brake lines for a 1998 buick park avenue?

The same way you would bleed them on a '97 Buick PA... Just kidding :). Make sure the master cylinder reservoir is full. Have a helper pump the brakes until they feel some resistance or the pedal no longer goes to the floor. Open the bleeder screw on a rear wheel cylinder or front caliper. The brake pedal should drop. Have your helper hold down the pedal until you have a chance to close the bleeder. Repeat the process until you get no air from that bleeder. Move on to the next bleeder and do it again. Repeat the process until all 4 bleeders are done. Make sure you check the fluid level in the master cylinder frequently.

I have a 2000 Alero 6cyl and reciently it has been shutting down on the highway. I have replaced the Altenator with a NEW one, replaced the battery and had a new compressor installed plus replaced my MAP...

Sounds like you have have a crankshaft senor problem. Sometime they will go "open" or stop reading when they get hot and after cooling down will start back reading. This is caused by the resistance in the sensor getting too high when it gets hot, resistance rises with heat. Running the air and electronic systems like cruise and radio can cause the engine to run warmer due to extra load on the altenator, ac compressor running, ect ect.

I cannot compress the rear brake caliper piston to install new pa

In the back the caliper pistons actually have to be turned... you can either do it with something that can fit in the two v-shaped notches, or you can buy a tool from Autozone, etc. that will fit on a 3/8" drive ratchet to turn the piston back in.

I did this myself for the first time about 4 weeks ago. Confused me until I asked an Autozone employee.

Brake lightand battery light came on and a/c getting warmer

Your charging system is not working properly. Most likely the alternator is going bad. If so your battery will die soon because it not being charged by alternator. Check belt first then check charging system if fine get back to me and I will be glad to provide more assistance if needed. If not replace alternator., problem solved. Good Luck
