Thermostats can't be repaired, they must be replaced. You should be able to get a new thermostat and gasket for under $20.

SOURCE: Thermostat on 2002 Chevy Impala

the best thing to get is the Haynes manual for your car at advanced auto or autozone or somewhere like that and the book will tell you how to take everything apart and put it back. i think the manual is about $16.00

SOURCE: chevy cavalier 2005 speedometer stuck not working

If your odometer is working and your speedo needle doesnt indicate correctly then your problem is the stepper motor in the cluster. I have repaired a lot of instrument clusters....cost is 105.00

Google used speed cluster. Buy one and have it installed. I found one for $112 shipped and installed for $30 bucks. Sorry if I posted twice. Good Luck.

SOURCE: radio unlock coed for chevy impala

• A module which communicates on the class 2 serial data circuit which supplies VIN information to the radio is replaced and not properly setup with the correct VIN information for that vehicle. The only way to unlock the radio is by using a scan tool.

Why are my wipers going constantly and why doesn't any air blow out of my vents on my 2005 Chevy Impala?

I think you have two things going on, your multifunction switch which runs our wipers and your blinkers and high beam, is bad. for your Heat not working , i'm pretty sure that is not tied into the wiper system, does you fan turn on at all in any speeds low high only ?

2007 chevy impala, the hot are take a long time to heat up

that's a possibility. Typically if the thermostat is stuck open on newer vehicles the check engine light will come on and have a P0128 code for low coolant temperature.

2001 Chevy Venture - My heat is not as hot as usual and blows cool when idle. Coolant level is fine. Temp Gauge isn't working.

Sounds like you need to have the cooling system flushed out then have them put a new themostat in it. If that dont fix the prob you might have to put a new heater core in it or radiator.

I have this code PO480 on my chevy impala 2001, and its over heating plus the engin light on

Does your fun run when the AC is turned on?. Check your FanCont2" and "FanCont3" fuses in the fuse compartment, if these are open, that will cause the code to pop, if either one burned, replace and reset computer with scanner. However you seem to have an actual issue, possibly with the fan motor, make sure your fan is running, also you could possibly have a semi closed stuck thermostat, remove it, then put it in a metal container with water, put it on the stove to heat up, once the water heats up the thermostat should open all the way, if it doesn't then replace it, either way, by testing it, you rule out that possible issue...
Good luck.

Normal temperature for a 2005 chevy impala 3.4 l ..is it half or as they say 180 degrees

Normal running temp is around 200-210 (f). If you have a 180 thermostat in there it will cause it to run cooler as it is supposed to have a 195 stat in there. If you have a 195, it may be stuck partially open or the electric fan may be stuck on. If it runs hotter, then the fan isn't coming on or there is an obstruction to either air or coolant flow through the radiator, coolant is low or there is a problem inside the engine such as a cylinder head gasket. If it overheats but the temp seems normal, make sure that you have a 50/50 antifreeze mix. Antifreeze not only keeps it from freezing but also raises the boiling point.
If you have a specific question about any of this just ask and I'll explain that part better.

I have a 2005 impala it blows cold air only.the thermostate is set at the hottest setting.i dont think its the heater core because it does not overheat and its not leaking antifreeze.what could it be?

It's more than likely the thermostat. If you have a 3800 V6 this is a very quick and easy fix. It you have a 3400 engine, this can be a pretty frustrating job. The bolts that hold the thermostat housing on are very difficult to get at on a 3400 engine. Either way, the thermostat itself is only $10-$12.

If your thermostat is stuck open the engine coolant will constantly circulate and won't warm up to normal operating temperature. Since it isn't warming up, you won't have any heat inside either.

Car trouble

Seems like you have a stuck thermostat. The lack of heat is from the lack of the thermostat opening preventing flow to the heater core.
