Question about Cars & Trucks
For some reason my Honda\'s shift won\'t want to move when I start the car the only way it does is if I put the key in he lock. put it on neutral then start the car and drive it. This happened a while back ago when I bought the car and a strange alarm went off.
Your brake interlock is not working properly. Do your brake lights work? There is a switch at the brake pedal that tells the computer your foot is on the brake and to let you shift gears. When working properly you can hear the click by your shifter when you step on the brake. If you don't hear the click you need to troubleshoot the system to see which part is not working properly.

SOURCE: car will not shift into gear
Sounds like a linkage/cable to me. Disconnect the linkage at the transmission and move the shift actuator by hand to see if there is the same things happening. Don't try to do this with the engine running unless someone is holding the brake inside the car.

Theres a transmission cooling sensor and somtimes the wire comes loose from other repairs being done around it. or its just out. its on the left side sitting on the tranny. THATS WHY your d4 light is blinking
