Alarm is on but the remote will not turn it off

open the car crank engine the alarm should go off get a new battery for remote

You gotta change the battery to the remote so it'll send a signal to not set off the

try disconect car battery for 5 min to get alarm to reset ,then disarm alarm via the remote before opening door or turning the key to start <if you have alarm remote

The key lock on the driver's side door is mechanically linked to a switch that turns the alarm on and off. You don't need a remote. Locking the door with the key turns the alarm on. Unlocking turns it off. I think the remote actually works through the same switch by mechanically locking or unlocking the door.

I've had a problem with mine intermittently setting off a false alarm as soon as the alarm is armed, which is about a minute after locking the door. It seems to be a problem with a switch in the trunk lid, because opening and closing the trunk is the only thing which relates to the problem appearing or not.

So my workaround, if the alarm is screwing up and I'm in a hurry, is to get out and walk around to the passenger side, open the door, press the dashboard door lock control to lock the doors, then close the door. That locks the doors without turning on the alarm system. To get back in I just use the remote or the door key.

you need to use the remote to turn off the alarm.no remote, alarm not disabled.if you cannot reset with remote get back.....

before doing anything... use the key to unlock the door...then the alarm will not go off

Have the alarm removed, or find a car audio shop. You can buy replacement remotes for alarms,

With alarm activated your ignition is disabled.Find the combination to disable it.With GM's you hold opposing buttons on the fob till it beeps twice. The dealer should help for no charge.

Just unlocking the car with the key turns the alarm off.
